About Us
The Upper Midwest Honors Council (UMHC) encompasses institutions of higher education at all levels in northwestern Illinois, Iowa, northern Michigan, northern Nebraska, North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin and seeks to support a regional identity for honors education among member institutions.
The specific expression of that identity is the annual meeting, which allows undergraduates an accessible and inviting academic conference at which to present their work and interact with each other across institutional lines and for faculty and staff to present best practices and discuss the state of honors education.
